Advisory
Standing water can hide soft salt mud beyond the raised road edge. A vehicle that leaves the marked causeway may be visible for a long distance and still be difficult to reach.
White lights are sometimes reported beyond the raised road edge. They may appear close across the flats even when the ground between is soft or flooded.
If stranded
- Keep the vehicle on firm ground when possible.
- Use hazard lights if electrical power remains.
- Do not walk toward an unconfirmed light source.
